 February 24, 2005 Michael A. Campolieta, 87, of Solvay died Thursday at home. Born in Syracuse, he was a resident of the Solvay area for over 60 years. He was retired from the Solvay School District, where he had served as high school principal. He was a member of theLincoln Republican Club, the Kiwanis Club, VFW Post 2893 in Solvay and the Solvay Tigers. He also was a basketball, football and baseball coach in the area and previously served as a councilman for the town of Geddes. He was a WWII U.S. Army Air Force veteran. He was an usher and communicant of St. Cecilia's Church in Solvay. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Josephine Russo Campolieta; three sons: Patsy of Baldwinsville, Leonard of Liverpool and Michael of Charlotte, NC; a brother, Joseph of Fulton; four sisters: Dinny (Stanley) Kowalczyk of Solvay, Jennie Herron of Syracuse, Fay (Nicholas) DeCarlo of Westvale and Gilda (Ty) Sales of LaFayette; 10 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Patsy Campolieta in 1945. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. from Lucian's Memorial Chapel, Inc., 315 Bridge St., Solvay, and 11 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Church. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY or the Kidney Foundation. October 27, 2004 Columbia M. Maimone, 87, of Spring Hill, FL, formerly of Clearwater, died Wednesday, October 27, 2004, at home under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice. She came to Florida 32 years ago from her native Syracuse, NY. She was a teacher who received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Syracuse University. She taught in LaFayette, NY, for 14 years, and Solvay High School, Solvay, NY, for 17 years. She was a member of New York State Teachers' Association. She was Catholic by faith. Survivors include her stepson, Joseph of Spring Hill; a nephew, John Moriani of Solvay; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A graveside memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 4, at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, Clearwater, FL. Arrangements by Turner Funeral & Cremation Center, Spring Hill, FL.
